Reality is an amazing type of beast.
If it shows up in front of you.
You can close your eyes. 👀 open it is still there.
You can turn your back to it.
Turn and it is still there.
You can run, hide, deny, misdirect, minimize, politicize, do anything you want.
Yes it is still there.
Besides being bestial, it is a brute with no mercy shown to denials or mysticism or any type of coping mechanisms – the likes of which many Nigerians are masters in.
That brute of reality is in Nigeria.
And the thing about reality with the nature of the merciless brute of the type confronting Nigeria today is that as with all other types of reality especially of the brutish type, it demands a frontal response which none of the current Nigerian political class has the courage or capacity to muster.
In fact they don’t pretend that they can solve this beast nor do they address it.
Which in a way is good at least they are not deceiving the masses on that front.
At this point with what I have seen personally over my lifetime and especially over the last 10 years as this brute has evolved first from attacking our northern christian lands to the rural north and now into the rural south it is even beyond the usual US quick fix.
Change the ‘politricktians’ from Tinubu to Obi or to any one of those current jokers.
That reality will still be there.
Our Northern Christians were a fortress against this reality for many generations.
That fortress has now broken and the center will no longer hold.
It is not a prophecy it is just reality.
Some Nigerian youths will ask “What will a “frontal response” look like?”
A frontal response is whatever anyone decides it to be.
Nigerian youths you know part of the answer.
When you are ready, you will know.
And the rest of us will know.
And we will join you because we have been ready.
However we will not fight a fight you are not willing to fight in.
The Southerners of Nigeria have known many parts of the answer for many years- I dare say as a student of history – that especially those of the south west of Nigeria have known for nearly as long as Northern Christians have.
You young Nigerian, you have even written it here in your heart this very minute.
Whether you and others have the courage to follow through on your own answers- which in your heart only you and each person know of in their own hearts- let’s leave history to be the judge of that.
I do hope by the time history judges, the survivors of today will not already have been victims of tomorrow.
I rest my case.
