“To remain silent is to die twice.”— Bishop Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe, C.M.F.
Nigeria is the so-called ‘giant’ of Africa.
But today, that so-called ‘giant’ is bleeding. And few are watching.
In a searing address before global leaders, Bishop Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe, C.M.F. of the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi spoke truths most fear to utter.
He didn’t speak as a politician.
He spoke as a shepherd.
And his message was devastating.
Across Benue State—the food basket of Nigeria—Christians are being massacred, displaced, and erased.
Villages burned. Churches razed. Farmlands seized. Children abducted. Women raped.
And the government? Silent. Or worse—complicit.
Diagnosis ▸
This is not random violence. It is deliberate extermination.
As Bishop Tsukba outlines:
- Fulani militias attack at will, backed by impunity.
- Priests are murdered, congregations scattered.
- IDP camps are overrun—no sanctuary left.
- Government forces never show up—until it’s too late.
Meanwhile, 12 northern states close schools for Ramadan, while jihadist violence continues unchecked.
This isn’t religious tension.
It’s religious cleansing.
Benue is 98% Christian.
It is also the target.
What Must Happen Now
A. Redesignate Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern”
Signal to Abuja that the world is watching—and will act.
B. Demand Protection for Ancestral Lands
IDPs don’t need new camps. They need their homes back.
C. Hold Nigeria Accountable via ECOWAS and AU
Nigeria led peacekeeping in Liberia and Sierra Leone. It can save itself—if it chooses.
D. Partner With the Church and Civil Society
They are the only boots on the ground bringing relief and dignity to survivors.
E. Investigate and Sanction Complicit Officials
Silence in power is not neutrality. It is aiding and abetting genocide.
F. Stop the Politically Correct Lies
Call this what it is: a coordinated campaign to Islamize and dominate.
G. Amplify the Voices of the Persecuted
From Makurdi to the world, let Bishop Tsukba’s voice ring loud.
“I speak for the raped, the widowed, the displaced, the forgotten.”
This isn’t just a Nigerian problem.
It’s a continental risk.
If Nigeria fractures, millions will flee—and West Africa may not survive the shock.
To world leaders:
You cannot say you didn’t know.
To citizens:
You must not look away.
To the Church:
Speak louder. March stronger. Pray harder.
To Nigeria’s leaders:
Your silence is killing your nation.
Protect your people—or history will not forgive you.
Onwards.
